Dr David Lamb

In addition to being the "WOWW Man", David is the Co-founder of Applied Psychologies, a national and now employee-owned Educational Psychology company made up of 30 multi-agency professionals who support more than 170 educational settings across the United Kingdom. With a focus on building strong relationships and applying psychology in meaningful ways, David is passionate about promoting positive outcomes for children and young people, their families and their educational settings.

An HCPC Registered Educational Psychologist, David holds a Doctorate in Applied Educational Psychology from the University of Nottingham. Alongside his professional practice, he lectures at the University of Lincoln and the University of Nottingham and was invited back as a Special Guest Alumni speaker at the University of Lincoln Graduation Ceremony in 2019 - an honour that reflects both his expertise and his ongoing commitment to the field.

David’s specialisms span Educational, Sports and Organisational Psychology, with a strong emphasis on motivational theories and solution-focused approaches. This breadth of knowledge allows him to support individuals and organisations in finding strengths, overcoming challenges and achieving progress. His favourite phrase is "success leaves clues" which is at the heart of WOWW! 

Beyond his professional career, David has represented Great Britain in Judo at international level, and is a three-time national medalist and two-time British Universities champion. His background in elite sport continues to shape his outlook, reinforcing his belief in resilience, motivation and the power of a positive mindset.

Known for his energy, positivity and sense of humour (particularly Dad jokes), David is highly regarded for his ability to connect with people, build strong relationships and champion their strengths. When he is not WOWW-ing, he loves to spend time with his wife and two daughters, enjoys playing and watching sport, and he will never say 'no' to a good coffee and a slice of cake.
